Overview
The Shelby GT500 Super Snake is one of the most desirable modern muscle cars, a creation from Carroll Shelby’s Las Vegas workshop that turned the already fearsome GT500 into something truly special. In 2008, Shelby American offered owners of the GT500 a chance to upgrade to full Super Snake specification, blending massive performance gains with unmistakable Shelby styling.
This particular Shelby GT500 Super Snake 2008 carries the 600 hp package. Powered by a supercharged 5.4-litre V8, it produces a brutal wave of torque while retaining all the usability of a modern Mustang. Unlike the even rarer 725 hp option, the 600 hp Super Snake was considered the more balanced choice — still ferociously fast, but tuned for real-world road and track use.
With Shelby/Baer 6-piston brakes, upgraded suspension, Alcoa 20-inch wheels and the aggressive Super Snake bodywork, the Shelby GT500 Super Snake delivers the perfect mix of brute force and Shelby authenticity. More than just a car, it is a numbered piece of Shelby history, complete with CSM plaque and Shelby documentation.

History
When Shelby launched the GT500 Super Snake package in 2007–2008, it was aimed at enthusiasts who wanted more than the stock GT500’s already impressive 500 hp. Customers could send their cars to Shelby American in Las Vegas, where they would receive the Super Snake treatment: supercharger upgrade, heavy-duty cooling, brakes, suspension, wheels and bodywork — along with an official Shelby CSM plate certifying the conversion.
The 600 hp version, such as this Shelby GT500 Super Snake 2008, struck the perfect balance between road usability and extreme performance. It was powerful enough to humble European exotics of its era while retaining the drivability of a modern Mustang.
Because every Shelby GT500 Super Snake was hand-built in limited numbers, they remain highly collectible today. This example, finished with its distinctive Super Snake badging and fitted with the official 600 hp package, represents the pure essence of Shelby’s legacy in the 21st century.
